Who we are

The Arakan Rohingya National Council (ARNC) is the unified political voice of the Rohingya people representing communities inside Myanmar, in refugee camps, and across the global diaspora. Formed after nearly two years of strategic consultations among Rohingya leaders, activists, community representatives, and diaspora organizations, ARNC stands as the most inclusive and representative platform in Rohingya history.

Our mission is to protect the Rohingya’s indigenous identity, reclaim rightful citizenship, and advocate for a safe, dignified, and just return to our ancestral homeland in Arakan State, Myanmar. We are committed to ending decades of persecution, displacement, and genocide perpetrated by the Burmese military, the Arakan Army (AA) and their accomplices to ensuring our people’s voices are heard in all national and international forums.

ARNC is built on broad-based participation, with a Central Executive Committee of 40 members and a Central Committee of 60 members, representing nearly every township in Arakan. This is only the beginning. The Council is committed to expanding its executive bodies so that every voice from every generation, and walk of life finds a place in shaping our shared future. Our inclusive approach fosters unity, cooperation, and collaboration across the Rohingya community, with the goal of building a peaceful, just, and democratic future for all people of Arakan State.

We engage with international bodies such as the United Nations, OIC, ASEAN, and the European Union, and are open to dialogue with all stakeholders including Rakhine community leaders, Myanmar’s democratic forces, and others, to shape a federal future where the rights and dignity of all are respected.

The ARNC welcomes every Rohingya and ally who shares our principles of unity, justice, dignity, and self-determination.

Together, we will reclaim our rights, restore our dignity, and reshape our political destiny.
