Dr. Abdul Hamid, born in Buthidaung, fled Burma in 1994. He holds a BSc in Chemistry, an MSc in Analytical Chemistry, and a PhD in Phytochemistry. He was a founding president of the Rohingya Society in Malaysia (RSM). He has worked as a tutor and chemistry demonstrator at the University of Science Malaysia. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Rohingya American Council. He is a Wisconsin Delegate for the U.S. Refugee Congress. He lives in the USA and continues advocating for refugees.
