Tasmida Sidik was born in Buthidaung, Arakan. In late 2013, she fled to Malaysia due to unbearable persecution in her homeland, Myanmar.
Since her arrival in Malaysia, she has been actively advocating for Rohingya rights and working with various non-governmental organizations. She has also been a strong voice for women’s rights and empowerment.
Tasmida currently serves as Secretary of the Arakan Rohingya National Council (ARNC).
