Maung Nu was born in Buthidaung Township, Arakan State. He is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Rohingya National League (RNL). He holds a BA in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles, and is pursuing an MBA in the United States. Maung Nu is recognised for his leadership in the Rohingya rights movement. He advocates for democratic participation and international support for the Rohingya. He has worked closely with U.S. policymakers to shape policies that advance the rights and well-being of the Rohingya community. His work concentrates on advocacy, raising awareness, and community mobilisation. He currently resides in the USA.
