Shamsul Alam Saan Yu was born in Sittwe, Arakan State, Myanmar. He studied Business Science at Yangon Co-operative Degree College. He is the co-founder of the Burmese Rohingya Welfare Organisation in New Zealand. He previously served as Director of the Political Bureau under the ARU Secretariat. He is involved in policy, refugee welfare, and global advocacy. His work aims to restore Rohingya rights and identity. He contributes to New Zealand’s humanitarian and multicultural initiatives. He currently resides in New Zealand.
