Aspect Ratio – 3:5
Design Overview:
The ARNC flag features a horizontal tricolour design composed of three equally sized stripes: blue on top, red in the middle, and green at the bottom. Centered within the flag is a constellation of white stars, with a prominent central star encircled by eight smaller stars in a symmetrical arrangement.
Color Composition, Values, and Symbolic Interpretations:
- Blue (Top Stripe): Signifies the sea and sky, reflecting the Rohingya’s maritime heritage, identity, and historical ties to the Kaladan River—an enduring lifeline for the community.
- Red (Middle Stripe): Embodies the unyielding resilience, bravery, and unwavering determination of the Rohingya people in pursuit of dignity and freedom.
- Green (Bottom Stripe): Reflects the fertile lands of ancestral Rohingya territory and their peaceful agrarian lifestyle. It underscores the people’s deep-rooted connection to nature and the enduring sustenance their land provides.
- White (Stars): Represents purity, peace, and the spirit of coexistence with all ethnic communities. The central star symbolizes visionary leadership and inclusive governance, while the encircling stars reflect unity, equality, and shared aspirations among the diverse peoples of Arakan.
Star Arrangement:
At the heart of the flag lies a prominent white star, occupying three-quarters of the red stripe’s height, representing the Rohingya’s visionary leadership and protective role. Encircling it are eight smaller white stars, placed equidistantly along a circular path, each symbolizing one of the other ethnic groups within Arakan. These stars are 5/12 the size of the central star and appear perfectly balanced on two of their points, creating a harmonious celestial design.
